Coventry public relations agency Advent Communications has added another member to its growing team.
Pete Squires has joined the well-established company, having spent more than three and a half years as a journalist with the Leamington and Rugby Observers.
The 26-year-old attained a BA honours journalism degree at Lincoln University, before going onto to complete his NCTJ training while with the Observer Standard Newspaper group.
The new account executive said: “I’m delighted to have joined such a successful and dynamic team.
“Working in the regional media over the last four years I couldn’t help but be impressed with the specialised news coverage Advent consistently generates for its clients.
“I’m thrilled I can now play a part in Advent’s bright future.”
Advent, based at Electric Wharf, recently helped Coventry City to win two ‘match-day Programme of the Year’ awards and has been involved in publicising the Take That and Oasis concerts at the Ricoh Arena.
Adam Dent, managing director of Advent, said: “We exclusively employ trained journalists and Pete has worked in Coventry and Warwickshire for much of his career.
“A lot of people are finding it difficult to recruit at the moment, but Coventry’s businesses are dealing with the recession in a resilient manner – and know how essential it is to continue to promote themselves.
“Our company has had an exciting few months and believe 2009 will continue to be a very positive one for us.”
